INDIA MUSSELL-MCKAY
Founder + Creative Director
UK born and Evanston raised — India is British but just doesn’t sound like it! She’s always had a passion for everything parties — coordinating events for her friends + family, and even scheming her own surprise birthday party one year. Working in hospitality and events management only fanned this flame, pushing her into opening a space of her own in PALMHOUSE.
India’s favorite “genre” of music is anything 90’s— hip hop to club hits, she considers animal print a neutral, and is definitely addicted to sparkling water.
DEBORAH EVANS
Founder + Culinary Director
Debbie was born in the UK, lived in Japan & settled in Evanston. She has more than 20 years of experience in the food industry in Evanston and abroad, and a tenacity for hosting paella nights, and 4th of July parties (YES, even as a brit!)
Debbie is current Executive Chef & Partner at Peckish Pig Restaurant & Brewery, which has been open for over 6 years at 623 Howard.
Deb loves bikram yoga, living by the lakefront, and dancing on the bar on New Years Eve.
JANEK EVANS
Founder + Beverage Director
Janek carries a British passport, but grew up right here in Evanston. When he first entered the service industry, he was determined to learn every facet of the business. Starting as a server, he’s since bussed tables, worked on the line in the kitchen, been a manager, and even helped in a brewery. Now he has finally found his home behind the bar creating one-of-a-kind cocktails that take you on a journey around the world.

Amber joined our team in 2022, and brings 9 years of experience in her own personal Event Coordination business to help all Palmhouse private events ensure a smooth and successful day.
